How to Perform
With the patient supine, use the finger pads to palpate the inguinal region for the horizontal chain (running along the inguinal ligament) and the vertical chain (running along the upper great saphenous vein), comparing the two sides. Note the size, consistency, tenderness, and mobility of any node.
