How to Perform
With the patient supine, place your hands behind the head and gently flex the neck, bringing the chin toward the chest. The finding is present when there is involuntary resistance to this passive flexion (the neck resists and the chin cannot easily reach the chest), while side-to-side rotation of the head remains comparatively free.
