Video coming September 2026

How to Perform

Stand about 2 feet (0.6 meters) behind the seated patient. Mask the non-tested ear by gently occluding the canal and rubbing the tragus. Quietly exhale, then whisper a three-character letter-and-number sequence and ask the patient to repeat it. If any character is missed, repeat once with a different sequence. The ear passes if at least 3 of 6 characters are repeated correctly. Test each ear separately.
